WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU VISIT THE INTEGRATIVE HEALTH CENTRE:

Welcome to the office!

The Integrative Health Centre is a professional naturopathic clinic committed to providing comprehensive health care to our patients.  We are dedicated to providing the patient with the maximal amount of information to meet and exceed your health goals and we want you to be involved in you health care program learning to make effective and educated decisions which prevent future health concerns.

The purpose of our clinic is to support our patients in their quest for health by providing an atmosphere of compassion, service, lifestyle education and natural therapies. The most important focus of our practice is education. After all, the word "doctor" is derived from the Latin word that means "to teach."

In the past year, the Integrative Health Centre has joined forces with the Healing Bridge Chiropractic Clinic in an effort to provide the most comprehensive approach to our patients as we can.  Our clinic now provides Naturopathic, Chiropractic, Massage Therapy and Skin Treatment Services and we are interested in expanding our services even further in the coming year.  Our Chiropractic doctor is Dr. Tara Drobot, DC and and our massage therapists are Kyla Spearing and Alana Searle.  Our skin therapist Gillian Fuchs, provides comprehensive skin analysis and medi-lift services and we proudly carry Environ Medical Skin Products along with our other supplement companies.

What can I expect in the first visit?

The first visit to the Integrative Health Centre will involve filling out a general information sheet including the major health concerns you would like addressed.

The visit with the doctor will include an in-depth history of your present health concerns, diet, energy and sleep patterns, major surgeries and general health status. The history will be followed by a general physical exam (without an internal), as well as specialized testing procedures using muscle testing and electrodermal acupuncture testing.

Because we believe that education is an important factor in the success of the program, the bulk of the visit is used to explain to the patient what is happening in the body and what is needed to correct the imbalance. The information will then be used to design a program, with the individual, using lifestyle and supplements to achieve the desired result.

Naturopathic doctors are educated in all aspects of physical care therefore recent medical lab testing is an important part of the diagnosis and management of the patient.  We request that the patient bring in any recent blood work to be evaluated during the visit and we may, if we feel it necessary, provide the patient with a requisition for any additional lab work we feel would be helpful.

A second visit will be scheduled one month later to evaluate the progress of the patient and make any necessary changes. At this time live blood cell testing or specialized urinalysis may be conducted to aid in achieving an optimal state of functioning in the body. Subsequent visits will then be scheduled in three to six month intervals.

We encourage our patients to ask questions and address all concerns that they have as one symptom may be related to another symptom going on at the same time in the body.

Our Medicinary

The Integrative Health Centre is equipped with an extensive and highly specialized medicinary. This provides a unique experience for most individuals who have become accustomed to having to make multiple visits to various labs and pharmacies. Our medicinary carries a wide variety of professional vitamins, minerals, herbals, homeopathic, and glandular medications.

The Integrative Health Centre has made a commitment to their patients to provide only the highest quality, and most effective, products. Therefore, the majority of the medications are not available in local health stores and many are imported from Europe and around the world.
